This project consists of collecting all available information as a result of the characterization of different varieties of cacao at a national and international level, in terms of agronomic criteria of economic importance (productivity, sensory quality, heavy metal accumulation, resistance to pests, adaptation to climatic and soil conditions, etc.). This project constitutes a fundamental first step in order to take advantage of the work previously done by multiple researchers and avoid duplicating efforts starting from scratch.

This project consists of the genetic characterization of promisory varieties selected from our database with the objective of identifying those ones that present the best agronomic and sensory attributes in order to make them available for the Peruvian market.

This project will seek to evaluate in the field the agronomic behavior of promising varieties previously selected and characterized by the CIC.
